Our bookstore in 2021
This is us: mundo azul Berlin is a small, independent, children’s bookstore. We have one big ambition: to host German and international, independent publishers in our shelves so that young (and not so young) readers in Germany have the chance to discover true diverse voices from around the world.
We have been doing this for more than thirteen years. We chose a rare project, difficult to keep alive. But I can tell you that it is the most rewarding one every time we open a new box with fresh books from Iran, South Korea, Colombia, Lebanon, Russia, USA, Portugal….those boxes carry the hope, strength, creativity of their makers. They are the starting point of a new storytelling here in Germany. We feel grateful that these publishers are our partners, especially those who struggled to survive in 2020.
